Welcome to the newest member of the blog family in the blogosphere. In this blog, I hope you’ll find encouragement for Christian living. In fact, that’s why I’ve decided to name my blog “Glorify. Train. Engage.” It’s kind of a theme for me right now, and one that I hope sticks in my soul for a long time. I want to encourage those who call themselves “Christians” to live a life worthy of the calling, and I believe there are three (3) ideals for Christians, summed up in these terms: glorify, train and engage.
GLORIFY.
We’re first called into a brand new relationship with our Creator-God. He pulls us out of our sinful rebellion and draws us to Himself by His Spirit through faith in His Son and enables us to worship Him. He creates something NEW in us and we become worshipers for the very first time. Worshipers, not of ourselves, but by God’s grace, we worship Him in Spirit and Truth. This is the heartbeat of every believer.
TRAIN.
As a worshiper, I am joined together with other worshipers on a great adventure. The worshiper is never alone, it’s never about a solo, it’s always about harmony. The worshipers encourage one another, edify one another, admonish one another. We lean on each other for spiritual growth and maturity. I don’t believe I can grow in my faith without my fellow worshipers. There are too many references in the New Testament where the called are the called-out ones (plural). And the expectation to walk together in faith never wanes.
ENGAGE.
But the worshipers are not meant to exist solely in their holy harmony. We’re called out in order to call out those who are being called out. Our role as worshipers is to invite others into worship, and we do this in part by involving ourselves with those who are not yet worshipers. Christians should intentionally connect with their communities or else they will cease to be relevant for their community (and that goes for churches as well).
We have the privilege of glorifying God with our lives, making disciples of the followers of Christ and expressing the Gospel of Christ in our world. Let’s get going!
