Here’s to a great 2020, putting faith into practice! Let’s find avenues to express our faith in culture and bring value to our communities. We’re not merely soul-winners; we’re Imago Dei with purpose on earth to shine out God’s light in all areas of life. We can be agents of change for the common good in our society. And because we’re people of faith, we ought to desire moreover to represent what’s new about being new creations in a tired world. We are salt and light: a city on a hill cannot hide its light in the surrounding darkness, nor can salt be without flavor in its preserving of what is good and right.
Titus 3:4-8 reads as follows:
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. [italics mine]
Strive on!
