Advent Season ’24 is on its way!
For this year’s theme, we’ll turn once again to Matthew 1 and follow the faith of five men from our Lord’s genealogical record: Jacob, Jehoshaphat, Josiah, Zerubbabel and Joseph. Each of these is faced with a fearful reality in his life and must choose to live by faith, employing his trust in the Lord through a particular circumstance. Through this experience, he finds that his fear is replaced by the strength of his faith in God.
(Or better yet . . . he finds that his faith is grounded in the strength of God!)
As we walk through Advent Season (beginning in only 3 weeks!), we’ll look at each of the five men –one per week– to discover how our own faith is strengthened because it resides on the foundation of the God who reveals Himself in the Person and work of the Incarnate Lord Jesus, who’s birth we celebrate each Christmas. Any fears we might experience today can be equally replaced as we rest our faith more firmly and ever steadily in our strong God.
